Artemis Design creates outdoor spaces in a partnership with the clients’ needs and vision. The team always acquaints themselves with the physical possibilities and limitations of both the construction and natural area under consideration. Designing landscapes for both new and existing homes, large and small, Artemis Design stays true to the underlying principles of solid aesthetic design. In addition, Artemis Design broadens its depth by regularly collaborating with area architects and local general contractors.

Lori was born and grew up in St. Joseph, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources majoring in forest ecology. After graduation, she worked for the US Department of Agriculture studying invasive plants in Yosemite National Park. Still under the US Forest Service, she accepted a position as a member of the Prospect, Oregon, forest fire Hotshot crew, traveling to Washington state, Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Arizona, and Alaska. Returning to St. Joseph, she worked for 12 years at a local design and build landscape company, founding Artemis Design in 2017. In her business, she combines her knowledge of plants and ecological management, passion for landscape architecture, and a strong work ethic to focus on and honor her clients’ vision for a final design.
